While some closures are required, this project was designed to minimize hassles to the traveling public.

All closures will include marked detour routes to get you where you need to go. Please be sure to follow the posted routes and not cut through local neighborhoods, which are not suited for through traffic.

To find out when these closures will occur, please check the Lake County PASSAGE website or go to the Contact Us page to be put on the list for email updates.

IL Rte. 83/Rollins Road TURNS ONLY (6 to 8 weeks, fall 2014)
A temporary bridge carrying IL Rte. 83 will be erected over Rollins Road to allow construction of the new intersection. Once the new pavement on Rollins Road is opened to traffic, vehicles will not be able to turn between Rollins Road and IL Rte. 83 because of the difference in elevation between the roadways. A marked detour route is planned, using Washington Street between Hainesville Road and US Route 45. Completion of the required sections of IL Rte. 83 will take approximately one month. Once this work is complete, traffic will be diverted to the new IL Rte. 83 pavement and all turns will be allowed at the new Rollins Road and IL Rte. 83 intersection.

IL Rte. 83/Rollins Road – (up to five nights, November 2014)
A full closure of all traffic is anticipated to remove the temporary bridge. This will be done at night to minimize the impact on traffic. Marked detour routes are expected to be similar to the above.
